Composite Pallets
The best of both worlds. Composite pallets combine recycled wood fibers and plastics into a pallet that is moisture-proof, nail-free, pest-free, and dimensionally perfect — all while giving a second life to waste materials.
GreenCycle Pallets is proud to offer composite pallets as part of our commitment to sustainable logistics. Every composite pallet we sell represents materials diverted from the landfill and repurposed into a high-performance shipping solution.

What Are Composite Pallets?
Composite pallets are manufactured by combining recycled wood fibers, sawdust, and wood chips with recycled thermoplastics (typically HDPE or polypropylene). The mixture is heated and pressure-molded into a single, solid pallet structure with no nails, screws, or adhesives required.
The result is a pallet that bridges the gap between traditional wood and modern plastic. Composites offer the natural appearance and familiar feel of wood with the moisture resistance, consistency, and pest-free qualities of plastic — at a price point between the two materials.
The manufacturing process can use up to 100% recycled content, making composite pallets one of the most environmentally responsible options in the pallet industry. At end of life, composite pallets can be ground down and re-molded into new pallets, creating a true closed-loop recycling system.

Key Advantages
Composite pallets combine the best properties of wood and plastic into a single eco-friendly package. Here is what sets them apart.
Moisture Resistant
Unlike traditional wood pallets, composites do not absorb water. They will not swell, warp, or grow mold when exposed to rain, humidity, or cold-storage environments. This makes them ideal for outdoor staging, refrigerated warehouses, and marine shipping.
Consistent Weight & Dimensions
Molded manufacturing guarantees that every composite pallet is identical in weight and size. This is critical for automated handling systems that rely on precise pallet dimensions and for shipping operations that need predictable freight weights.
No Nails or Fasteners
Composite pallets are formed as a single piece or bonded without metal fasteners. No nails means no risk of product damage from protruding hardware, no worker injuries from splinters or exposed nails, and no metal contamination in food or pharma supply chains.
Made from Recycled Materials
Most composite pallets are manufactured from recycled wood fibers and post-consumer recycled plastics. By choosing composites, you are diverting waste from landfills and reducing the demand for virgin timber and petroleum-based materials.
ISPM-15 Exempt
Because composite pallets do not contain untreated solid wood, they are exempt from ISPM-15 phytosanitary regulations. No heat treatment or fumigation is required for international shipping, saving time and reducing export costs.
Pest & Insect Free
The manufacturing process eliminates any possibility of insect infestation. Composite pallets cannot harbor beetles, termites, or other wood-boring pests, making them the safest choice for sensitive environments and border-crossing shipments.
Ideal Applications
Composite pallets excel in environments where moisture, hygiene, and consistency are critical requirements.
Export & International Shipping
The combination of ISPM-15 exemption, consistent weight, and moisture resistance makes composite pallets the premium choice for international freight. Eliminates fumigation costs, customs delays, and phytosanitary inspection risks at borders worldwide.
Food & Beverage Processing
Non-absorbent surfaces prevent bacterial growth and contamination. Easy to wash and sanitize between loads. No nails or splinters to damage packaging or contaminate products. Meets FDA and USDA guidelines for food-contact surfaces.
Pharmaceutical & Medical
Cleanroom-compatible construction with no particulate shedding. Chemical resistance handles pharmaceutical cleaning protocols. Consistent dimensions integrate with automated dispensing and conveyor systems.
Outdoor & Weather-Exposed Storage
Unlike wood, composite pallets will not decay, split, or weaken from prolonged outdoor exposure. They resist UV degradation and can handle seasonal temperature fluctuations from freezing winters to hot summers without dimensional changes.
Automated Warehouse Systems
Uniform weight and dimensions across every unit ensure smooth operation of AS/RS systems, conveyors, and robotic palletizers. No warped boards or missing blocks to cause jams or sensor errors.
Retail Display & Point-of-Sale
Clean, splinter-free appearance suitable for retail floor displays. Consistent aesthetics with no staining, rot, or visible repairs. Available in custom colors for brand-aligned retail presentations.

A Greener Choice
Every composite pallet represents waste that was diverted from a landfill. By purchasing composite pallets from GreenCycle, you are supporting the circular economy and reducing your supply chain's carbon footprint.
The manufacturing process itself uses less energy than producing new wood or plastic pallets from virgin materials. The recycled content reduces demand for logging and petroleum extraction, while the long service life means fewer replacements over time.
When composite pallets reach end of life, they do not go to waste. GreenCycle collects and recycles them through our partner network, grinding them into raw material for the next generation of composite products. It is sustainability in action.
