Our Mission & Values
GreenCycle Pallets exists to prove that doing right by the planet and doing right by your bottom line are not opposing goals. Our mission is to eliminate pallet waste in the Bay Area by making recycled pallets the obvious choice — the highest quality, the best price, and the lowest environmental impact, all in one.

The Mission
"To extend the useful life of every wooden pallet in the Bay Area through expert repair, responsible recycling, and dependable logistics — reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and saving our customers money with every load we handle."
That mission drives every hire we make, every route we plan, and every board we nail. It is the reason we invested in solar panels before they were trendy, the reason we publish our environmental metrics publicly, and the reason we turn down deals that would compromise our standards. A mission only matters if you live it every day — and at GreenCycle, we do.
Four Core Values
Sustainability First
Every decision at GreenCycle begins with one question: what is the most sustainable path forward? We measure success not just in revenue but in tons of wood diverted from landfills, gallons of diesel saved through route optimization, and kilowatt-hours generated by our rooftop solar array. Sustainability is not a marketing badge we pin to our homepage — it is the operating system that runs our entire business. From sourcing pallets locally to using water-based sealants and biodegradable packaging materials, we ensure that each step of our process leaves the smallest possible environmental footprint.
Quality Without Compromise
A recycled pallet should perform just as well as a new one — full stop. Our four-stage inspection process evaluates every board for structural integrity, moisture content, pest damage, and dimensional accuracy. Pallets that pass are graded A, B, or C using a transparent rubric we publish openly so customers always know exactly what they are buying. Those that do not pass are dismantled and their usable lumber is reclaimed for repair stock. We hold ISPM-15 heat-treatment certification, which means our repaired pallets meet international phytosanitary standards for export shipping — a level of quality many pallet dealers cannot offer.
Community Partnership
GreenCycle is a Sunnyvale company through and through. We hire locally, source locally, and reinvest locally. Our team members live in the neighborhoods we serve — from St. Johns and Sellwood to Beaverton and Gresham — and many of them started with us as apprentices before becoming skilled technicians. We sponsor youth environmental education programs, donate refurbished pallets to community garden projects, and volunteer alongside organizations like Charles River Conservancy for annual river and roadside cleanups. When our community thrives, our business thrives. That is not an abstraction; it is a business model.
Innovation in Recycling
The pallet industry has not changed much in a century — but we think it should. GreenCycle invests in research and process improvements that make recycling faster, cheaper, and greener. We developed a proprietary board-matching system that reduces repair time by 30 % while improving structural consistency. Our logistics team uses route-planning software that cuts average delivery miles by 18 %, and we are currently piloting RFID pallet tracking so customers can monitor their inventory in real time. Innovation is how we keep pushing the boundaries of what a used pallet can be.
Our Vision for 2030
By 2030, GreenCycle Pallets aims to process 300,000 pallets annually while achieving a true zero-waste operation — meaning every single piece of material that enters our facility will leave as a usable product or renewable energy source. No landfill. No exceptions.
We plan to expand our service area to cover the entire West Coast, establish satellite repair hubs in Salem, Eugene, and Seattle, and deploy an all-electric transport fleet. We are also developing a digital marketplace where businesses can list, browse, and order recycled pallets as easily as ordering office supplies.
Most importantly, we want to inspire other industries to adopt the circular-economy principles that have guided GreenCycle from day one. If we can prove that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand in the pallet industry, imagine what is possible in construction, textiles, or electronics.
